Sea Otters and Oil Spill Incidents

Changes in Sea Otter Density Relative to Oil Spill Incidents in Southern CA
Created using ArcMap 10.6, data from U.S. Geological Survey and NOAA.
For this project, I used ArcMap 10.6 and data from the USGS and NOAA to look at changes in density of sea otter populations relative to quantities of oil spilled over the period of 2006 to 2010. My results found that while oil spills tend to occur in regions where there are lower densities of sea otters, there does not seem to be a significant difference between densities of sea otters relative to small and large quantities of oil spilled.
