Commissions 2018
Here is a picture of a drawing I did for my sister of her dog, Benny, last year. I used Faber Castell Polychromo pencils on brown sugar paper. Unfortunately, I didn't remember to take a picture of the finished work before I gave it to her. Just imagine this, but Benny has a body too, not just a floating head.
Not so much a commission, this drawing of a golden retriever was made early last year for my school's annual art awards. It was made using Derwent graphite and sketching pencils. It earned me one (of two) of the 6th year art awards. For some reason I put a dirty eraser in the picture, but let's not talk about that.
Here is a piece commissioned by a local farrier for his wife, whose horse had sadly passed away after an injury. It was one of my first times drawing a complete horse and rider combination and I'm very happy with how it turned out. I used Derwent graphite and sketching pencils in the shades 2B to 8B on A3 white canyon card.
Here is an acrylic painting of my cousins' dog, Bertie the Basset hound. This was my first time ever attempting painting a dog (especially for a commission), as I am known to often claim that "I hate painting". I used very little water and a variety of brush sizes when painting in order to achieve a raised texture.
Here is a commission of my friend's pony, Minnie, which was commissioned by her mother for her birthday. It was a bit of a secret mission to take picture of Minnie without her owner knowing, but we got there in the end! As always, I used Derwent graphite and sketching pencils in the shades 2B to 8B on A4 white canyon card. I also included a side-by-side comparison of my horse drawings, made nearly 10 years apart (age 9 VS age 18). I think it's safe to say that I've improved slightly.
Finally, here's a framed drawing of myself and my Mam, made in December 2018 as a Christmas gift, which was made using the same materials as always. I rarely draw people, but I'm very happy with how it turned out, and so was my Mam on Christmas morning.
