1. Why is it important to know what you believe and why you believe it? (at least 50 words)

APOL 104 Module 3 World View Assignment NEW

Part One (25-50 words): Answer the question, What is a worldview? Define what the term “worldview” means. Use at least one descriptive phrase or illustration to support your definition. Here you are simply giving a workable definition of “worldview.” “Descriptive phrases” are given in the video (like “lens” and “framework” etc.) If you cite the video, which is fine, be sure you do so correctly according to APA. Cite any sources you use (assigned and outside sources) properly according to APA (See Writing Rules 1).
Part Two (300-350 words – 60-70 per paragraph): Articulate the biblical/Christian Worldview (what is believed) for each of the following 5 questions/categories: Origin, Identity, Meaning, Morality and Destiny. Give at least 2 relevant scripture references foreach of the five questions (do not write out, but paraphrase the verses) to support why it is believed. These should be separate passages, not two verses from the same passage. But you alsomust support every theological claim with Scripture (See Writing Rules 2). (For those of you less familiar with biblical content, see the Supplement “Biblical Resources for Articulating WV” for relevant verses within each category. This is available under the assignment instructions link).
This section (Part 2) is the heart of the assignment; explaining whatis believed in a biblical worldview and why. All I am looking for is how well you have grasped the basic content of a biblical worldview. DO NOT describe any other worldview at this point. You will be wasting our time if you write about naturalism, pantheism, etc. (You will do this with great detail in the Critical Thinking Assignment of Week 6).
IMPORTANT: You must arrange Part Two into five clearly distinguished paragraphs, one for each worldview question category (follow the Template you see below). Detailed discussion of these questions can be found in chapter 4 of the Weider & Guiterrez text, Consider (See pages 64-76). Use the supplemental resource mentioned above to guide you to relevant Scripture for each question and subquestion.
Part Three (100-150 words): How might/should a biblical worldviewinfluence the way you . . . [Refer specifically to how biblicalworldview beliefs influence your answer] choose only two of these and support each separate paragraph (of 50-75 words minimum) with at least one relevant biblical reference:
Only answer TWO of the following. Choose the ones that mean the most to you at this point and explain how a biblical worldview might influence the answers.
1. …think about, treat, and speak to others on a daily basis?
2. …voting in local or national elections?
3. …treat/interact with the environment and non-human creation?
4. …decide a future career (what you will choose and/or how you will carry it out)?

POL 104 Module 6 Critical Thinking Assignment NEW

Part One: (at least 250 words)
1. Select ONLY ONE of the worldviews (Secular Humanism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam) that have been considered in the course content.
2. Using your assigned sources (textbooks, PDFs, Videos, etc) and at least one source outside of the assigned ones, complete the following-
How would the worldview that you selected answer: -
The Question of Origin -
The Question of Identity -
The Question of Meaning/Purpose -
The Question of Morality -
The Question of Destiny –
Part Two: (at least 250 words)
Compare and contrast your selected worldview’s answers (as given in Part One) to a Biblical/Christian worldview. – In this Part you will make clear comparisons and contrasts with how Christianity and the selected worldview answer the questions under each of the worldview categories. This is not merely a restatement of your worldview assignment (although you may use that), it is a very pointed comparison and contrast. Again, one well marked paragraph per category; thus five in this part also. You must have at least one biblical reference for each paragraph as you go through this comparison and contrast section.
Again, be sure to write five distinct paragraphs, one for each worldview category/question to make this comparison and contrast.

The Question of Origin – (Again, this is NOT aobut the origin of the faith/philosophy, but how that faith/philosophy answers the questions of ORIGIN – see p. 55 in Consider).
The Question of Identity -
The Question of Meaning/Purpose -
The Question of Morality -
The Question of Destiny –
