Life and Loss

This life is one of constant loss. Everything that we ever gain or achieve is destined to be one day taken from our grasps. This solitary thought can be quite depressing when it is the only thing that is dwelt upon. Though this is sad, many times it is only through loss that we can move forward and take the next step in our journey. It is only through death and loss that there can be rebirth, and things found anew. 

The tree stump is symbolic of the inevitable pain of loss we suffer through life, but the acorn represents the part of life that gives and grows. I find this cycle to be something heart - breakingly beautiful, and decided to illustrate it with the simple symbolic meanings of a tree stump and a seed.
