For some time there has been a trend in interior design leaning towards the use of materials such as concrete, stone, glass or wood ... all still attractive , but hard materials. Textiles such as fabric curtains or carpets, have virtually disappeared from the interior design magazines. Lotus aims to innovate and resume a past fashion, in order to give a soft touch to the interior spaces while maintaining a beautiful and attractive aesthetics.
Lotus can be assembled and arranged in a custom manner indoors, hanging from the ceiling or wall to divide space, be a decorative object and absorb sounds due to the sound insulation properties of the material. Lotus gives individuals the opportunity to be architects and designers by participating in the construction, positioning and final product structure.
The shape of Lotus was inspired by the freedom of movement from the lotus flower and the naturalness of the fractal geometry. Thread and glue to connect the modules was avoided to facilitate assembly by the user. The components of Lotus are laser cut made of a material called EchoPanel Mura from the Australian company Woven Image, which is similar to the texture of felt and is made of 100 % PET plastic (60 % recycled).
