This project started with a simple brief: design a watering can for extrusion blow mold production. The design process involved first researching the production process to understand its strengths and limitations, then examining different styles and the organomics of a watering can, and then creating concept sketches, working drawings, and foam models of the finished design.
In my exploration of the erganomics of a watering can, I found I prefered pouring from a jug or pitcher more than a watering can. I also found for use inside the house the amount of water needed is not prohibitive of this style of pouring. The watering can took this and combined it with a playful aesthetic to create a form that is both usuable and fun. It is a watering can that puts forth a statement about the user and as such does not need to be hidden when not in use.
