The series of sculptures are made in the summer of 2015, as I started to explore the possibilities of my "new skills" back then- 3D printing, 3D modeling, ceramics and woodworking.
In this project, I attempted to connect human with the sound from nature. Each of the four designs has characteristics that adapt to the corresponding environment. They are also designed to hold mini microphones for sound recording. The holes on the surface allow the sound to travel through. People are able to place these designs anywhere they want and create a personal soundscape that represents their relationship with nature. It could be a time of travelling, a memory of one's hometown, or just simply a mixture of the sounds one enjoy.
