Interior Illustration + Color Variations

Illustration + Color Variations

This original illustration of an interior space in a 2-point perspective was drawn by hand on paper first, then digitally traced on Illustrator. Each design is letter size and includes at least seven colors, with closed shapes and shading. Four different color schemes were applied to the original outline.

After deciding on an interesting composition from my own apartment, I adjusted furniture and props with a focus on unity and balance. I then played with light and shadows; the light cast on the couch and coffee table was most challenging, requiring additional research and observation.
Four color variations were studied, based on the following schemes: analogous, complementary, monochromatic, and triadic. I chose pastel colors to keep the schemes consistent and provide a “homey” and welcoming feeling in each iteration.

Monochromatic
