Presenation Board Design

A presentation board for a university campas introduction. The design concept was created with Adobe InDesign.

Client Requirements

A poster design concpet to to include;
- A campus floor plan
- Images of the rooms and facilities. Select one ‘hero’ image
- Ensure the layout has a strong hierarchy
- Ensure the layout doesn’t overpower the content of the presentation
- Project Title and description (provided)
- Designer's name
- Font and type size that is easy to read when the presentation is viewed on a wall.

First Attempt

Covered all the required aspects but the overall impression is still weak / boring. There are too many squares and sharp corners which are not so impactful/ appealing to the eyes.

Things that can be improved:

- The shape of image placeholders: Instead of just normal rectangles, use more curves. Make them more organic/ unique shapes.
- Typography: Incorporate more playful, artistic font / styles in the header/ subheaders.
- Layout: Arrange contents in more fun, lively and eye-catching layout.

Revised Design

1. Main Visual

Put a hero image in an eclipse shape.
Use Serifa font family for texts to give a simple but artistic aesthetic. Use a range of font styles.

2. Style of Project Statements

Place a large quotation mark so it stands out in viewers' eyes.
Drag out the most strong sentence from the paragraph and place it in the top right corner in order to emphasize its importance.

3. Other Elements

Position the rest of elements in seemingly random order. Include images in different size of bubbles to picture the "idea popped" moments, indicating that this design studio is a great place to spark student's creativity and express their artistic talents.
