I have always found it interesting about the fact that there are many layers to every single person on this earth. It is virtually impossible for one to act the same way in every situation. Thus, I decided to name my project after the word. Layers.

I chose to photograph my uncle Tee Bu Seng, prior to photographing him I have always just known him as the friendly uncle that sells fish. But that was about it.

Through photographing him, I managed to unveil various layers of him, from being so alert and swift when he’s doing work in the market to falling asleep constantly on a chair at home. The contrast is really beautiful and it really shows the dynamism of him.
