Beyond Harm
Projection

The selections from family footage appearing here were by Ghanameh’s grandfather (Ahmad Yakhlef) between 1940 and about 1975. Primarily set near the family residence in Nablus, a city in the northern region of Palestine’s West Bank, the footage (totalling about three hours) was stored in tape form - only to remain unexamined for decades. In recent years it was recovered and converted to digital. Appearing here, the footage documents the family lifestyle prior to Israeli occupation in the Six-Day War, fought between Israel and the border states of Egypt with Jordan and Syria in 1967.

In collaboration with Aya Ghanameh.
