Fragments-Woven kitchen & table linen for Anthropologie

Inspiration Board

The product analysis of the existing products in the kitchen and table linen collections shows clean designs. Many of them are dobby weaves, which are geometric. However, geometry is an exact opposite of wabi-sabi. Wabi sabi promotes irregularities and incompleteness. Geometry and tessellation are all about the perfect lines and complete figures .At times a single line missing or a change in direction can cause an interesting effect to design and will also help in breaking monotony of the design. The keywords include uneven geometry, broken, irregular direction and asymmetrical direction.

After analyzing the existing products, the kitchen and table linen collections uses weaves that are quite different. The most common weaves are extra warp and extra weft, honey comb, huck a back and fil coupe. Plain weaves are also used, but they are not as heavy as the ones in cushions. The yarn counts are much finer. This can be justified by the uses of these products.
