The story line was inspired by proverbs which South African parents would tell their children in order to get them to behave. This phrase means that by not washing the dishes or refusing to help with the chores the child would be calling bad luck into the household and strange things would start to happen in the house . The strange things would be the ancestors making their displeasure toward the unwashed dishes to you.

The story is about a little boy who refuses to wash the dishes when he's father asks him to. Things start going wrong for him after this, his toys refuse to play with him and his bed shakes him off. But everything goes back to normal again when the little boy finally washes the dishes.
