Retro Illustration Kit Swaps | AS Roma Personal Project

This illustration series was a passion project of sorts, mixing three of my favorite things: AS Roma, Photoshop illustrations, and classic/retro uniforms. Illustration jersey and kit swaps are an interesting spin on the jersey swap technique by creatives, and I think it can yield just as good, if not better, results when done properly.

I love Roma's classic kits, between the designs, the sponsors, the colors, the badges, each bring something unique to the table, so naturally it made sense to pay tribute to them with club captain Daniele De Rossi wearing a kit from each of the last 4 decades (80s, 90s, 00s, 10s). The pattern behind DDR mirrors the kit design themselves as the main elements and proper logo are featured, along with De Rossi's signature.

This was a fun follow-up to my previous retro kit swap series, and turned into one of my favorite personal projects yet the way they turned out, diving into some of the third and special edition kits. They were also used by the club on Twitter via their English, Arabic, and Persian accounts. Take a look at the project below:
