The Adventures of Poah

The concept and story
THE ADVENTURES OF POAH

The Adventures Of Poah is the first installment of a children's book that I created which is based on a proverbial phrase that my father always makes reference to;

"The university of life"

My dad would always make reference to this phrase (which was told to him by his father) when ever you encounter an experience where you learn something new that is not taught to you or has never been taught to you. Basically "the university of life" is 'an institution' that we are all permanent students off, because we are always learning through experiences and always teaching ourselves.

The book is based on a 12 hour book challenge project in association with Bookdash, where 12 hours were spent creating the story.

In this first installment of The Adventures Of Poah, Poah and her Grandmother go to the berry park to collect berries for the berry tart which Poah's Granny is making. However this trip to the berry park turns out to be a learning experience for Poah where she learns a survival skill to remember the edible berries from the non-edible (poisonous) berries.

From this experience children who read this book or who are read to with this book, will also learn this basic survival skill as well as the concept of "the university of life".

The produced story book comes in two versions of South African languages, an English version and an Afrikaans version.
