Introduction
Sanaa is a company that buys and sells African art to display in Airbnb's.
Not only did I create the logo and branding, but I also designed sanaa's website.
Logo + Branding
I chose the name 'sanaa' (pronounced like sau•na) because the word means 'art' in Swahili, which is the most commonly spoken language in Africa.

For visual representation, I decided to create a linear version of a gazelle because it's the national animal of Malawi, where most of the art is from.

The color choice was chosen to incorporate the wooden nature of the figures sold, but also give it a modern/edgy sort of feel to it.

I started with a simple linear version of the gazelle, changed it to a green gradient throughout the figure, and then added a brown overlay at 50%.
Website
After speaking with the client and understanding what his needs are, I decided to go with a simple two page site. The home page will announce what the company stands for, what it does, and how it came to be. The artists' page will have a bio about the artist with links to their social media accounts and examples of their work. Finally, the user will be able to click on an example of the artists' work to enlarge it in a lightbox.
