Given the current political climate and easy access to social media, online debates quickly turn into comment wars, with ideas clashing rather than people willing to understand each other. Forgiveness is one of the hardest emotions to convey when humans are hardwired to retaliate once pride or self-esteem is injured.
By creating a more thoughtful approach for people to write their perspectives, people are forced to physically slow down and think more about the emotions they’d wish to express for the receiver. To best represent two different perspectives coming together, the symbols of the Democratic and Republican parties are utilized as the main focal point. The childlike imagery and interactions of patterns throughout the envelope reinforces the notion that many childlike arguments can be easily avoided.
