(Paradise road Gallery cafe was established in 1998 and was the office of Geoffrey Bawa) That's what we came to know from our driver in Colombo, hearing this we had to make a detour to the cafe. The cafe is completely preserved with a few add on posters and is located in a tranquil environment on a busy street in Colombo.

On entering, I saw a golden painting which shone at the extreme end and a water body. The composition of the golden artwork, the sun rays plunging in the water was just all as I had read about Bawa at the beginning of my architectural education.

The feeling it gave was as if it was a planned one point perspective, which started from the circular golden painting- to the water body- to the glazed mud tiles- and a small circular wooden vessel containing water and the golden reflection. It all looked in a perfect harmony.

The cafe used Black and white to accessorise (The Bawa stripes ) which was more like a tribute to him and a statement of modernism in Srilankan architecture.
