This work was done as part of the Creative Textiles Elective. (Sem 7 - UG). The objective was to explore non conventional materials and techniques to create a surface that can be translated to product ideas and surface ornamentation.
Some of the techniques with potential was developed into swatches.
The insertion of paper fans into household Aluminium mesh was further explored.
This technique very well resembles the making of images through pixels which was manipulated to create a 2ft by 2ft depiction of a quadrant of the cross section of a tree showing its growth rings.

A total of 15,376 upcycled handmade paper fans used to make the image.
