This is a side table that can also be used as a small bookshelf. I put the bars in so that they could be used for shelving books and convey the sense of space and form at the same time. A glass top was used to make the metal structure and books visible.
Initially, this project began as a design for trolley that could accompany the floor desk. In the process, bars were added for shelving books. As I saw potential in the structure of the bars, I shifted the direction of this project to create a furniture that can emphasize the bar structure.
I wanted to display structural beauty of the bars and plates. I chose the structure that has the potential to be applied to a wide range of furniture, as I conceive of this furniture design to be in series.
