Challenge: Rebrand Amyris to reflect its shift away from industrial biofuels to making sustainable ingredients for the healthcare, fragrances and cosmetics industries.
Solution: We designed a radical new brand identity to support the new Amyris positioning and purpose — Make Good, No Compromise — focused on making the purest ingredients possible.

The prior Amyris identity was associated with a chemicals and biofuels company, and needed to reflect a consumer-friendly business using clever science to make sustainable ingredients.
A new lowercase ‘r’ was explored and redrawn to subtly suggest a leaf:
