Cover designs for a book series entitled 'Futureshock'. Books included:

- Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell

- A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
- A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

- Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

 

I identified a running theme of control across all books which became the main focus of my collection. The image of a key represents the theme of control upon all of the covers as keys control what people have access to. The key is adapted in four individual ways in connection with the novel it is representing in a direct and bold manner, so I felt the images were strong enough to stand alone without their novel titles. The black and white colour palette is used to reinforce the strong stamp of control seen throughout all four novels where there is no tolerance for any alternatives.
