  • Reclaiming the space once excavated than abandoned, this construction unearths a story all too familiar, a parable perhaps; modern environmental consequences of consumerist tendencies reevaluated. Architecture bridges the gaps between uneven geographies, barriers of separation become the threshold of interior. From a distance a hole appears carved from its surface, a cavern of sorts; the familiar puncture a reprieve amidst unrecognizable terrain. At its peak, perihelion (or the point closest to the sun), the edges become synonymous with horizon. Below, the gentle arms of the earth beckon. Land once wasted is reborn, a renewed respect for the environment permeates as the most interiorized spaces inhabit the construction’s subterranean. is structure, its strange spontaneity and otherworldly biology, imagines wasteland recontextualized.
