Challenge: As a data infrastructure manufacturer, Western Digital wanted to shine light on data's ability to generate solutions for a better tomorrow while up-leveling the brand among the tech influencers of the world.

Answer: A year-long campaign was launched to show the world the power of data to fuel actionable climate solutions through the brand new concept of data philanthropy — or donating data for public research. We partnered with the United Nations to host a data innovation challenge in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. Over 450 data science teams applied to compete and winning solutions were showcased to business and government leaders from across the world at COP23, raising Western Digitals profile as a tech innovator, and illustrating how increased data access can drive real solutions for global issues.
