"My Sleep Paralysis"

A queen-sized blanket about my sleep paralysis and dreams
My Sleep Paralysis
Every since I was a little girl, I've always struggled with having sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is a condition when one's body falls asleep and is "paralysed" when the mind is awake. When one sleeps, the body is paralysed in order to not act one's dreams. But sometimes the brain does not signal the body to wake up when one is awake, hence sleep paralysis. During my sleep paralysis I have vivid dreams about people touching me, my childhood memories, empty homes, etc. The "wave" motifs are dreams that my dad had before I was born, and so I thought it correlated well into this project. I used bright and soft colours for this blanket in order to portray a child-like feel with strange motifs that I see in my dreams.
