The Counted is a project by the Guardian – and you – working to count the number of people killed by police and other law enforcement agencies in the United States throughout 2015 and 2016, to monitor their demographics and to tell the stories of how they died.
Strategy

In 2016 the United States Police Departments were killing black and brown men left and right. Around the same time, I found The Guardian’s project, The Counted. This campaign is basically me taking the findings of The Guardian and showcasing them across social media, print, and guerrilla platforms. One of the main things I wanted to make sure I did was put faces to these numbers to put things a bit more into proper perspective. I wanted these pieces to really show the ugliness of what was going on, hence the boldness and aggressiveness of the ads.
