The new year brings new travel experiences and opportunities with it. There are new trends that have been on the upswing in the last portion of 2018 and look to continue upwards into the new year. Here are some new trends that will be coming or are already in motion for 2019.

The Caribbean
The islands took a few Hurricanes towards the end of 2017 and have had a long road to recovery up to this point. With new efforts to improve their infrastructure, Puerto Rico is upgrading the experience for tourists and the Carribean can be considered a top travel destination on 2019.

Flights are also now more available to the Caribbean from America. The number of flights has increased about 18% from the years 2013 to 2018. This allows more options for smaller cities to travel to the Caribbean.

Ecotourism
A style of travel that has been seeing more popularity recently, Ecotourism. More people are looking to travel in a “green” way, and by looking for sustainable options. There are more options around the world that are accepting the ecotourism business style for people who want to go green with their travel.

Boutique Travel Options
There are new boutique companies that are offering unique travel destinations that are tailored to each client’s interests. This kind of travel planning is attracting more attention from millennials, but any travel lover can find benefits with these companies.

Low-Cost Airlines
Recently and even in 2019 airlines are offering more cost-effective flights to new places. Tickets are now on the lower side of the scale for prices, especially flights to Hawaii from the east coast.

Low-Interest Travel Destinations
New studies have shown that more people are interested in smaller islands that not many people think to visit. Islands like Bali, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka are now gaining traction and more people are looking to visit these remote islands.

Solo Travel
Something that has been growing the past couple years, but is now growing, even more, solo traveling. There are people who prefer to travel by themselves and more people are starting to find the allure of traveling independently.
