The University of Rhode Island's Musicians Guild contacted me to create a logo to replace their existing one. The previous logo was not reflective of all types of music, as much as it was just rock music. In creating the new logo, I wanted to pay homage to their roots, but also to create a mark that was more symbolic and would give them longevity - something that could embrace the old, but also just music as a whole. The existing logo was in black and white only, so I decided to experiment with some color and it worked out well for the client. URI's Musicians Guild hosts live music events, so that was the approach I took to creating mockups - posters, backstage passes, event photos, merch.
