For Achmea, a large insurance company in the Netherlands
Achmea was the main sponsor of a temporary exhibition called 'Niet Normaal' (Not Normal) in De Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam. During this exhibition, several meetings were held for different groups and contacts of Achmea. The task was to create a 'corporate environment' during these gatherings. Due to the strict requirements of this location, it was not possible to hang anything on the ceiling or on the walls. Therefore I have designed this big, on itself standing lamp.
The foot is made from two cone shaped MDF skeletons with triplex around. In this wooden shape an iron frame is welded to keep up the weight of the shade. The shade is made from transparant synthetic material where two types of foil is attached to; one semi transparant layer and one crystall layer. The logo is plotted out of the crystall foil and gives a lighted effect without being too pretentious.
