LBSC Atlantic Express Locomotive “Beachy Head”

What it is to have a bit of time to do a project just for pure pleasure. just finished this painting, all done digitally with stylus and tablet over the last few days. This is London Brighton and South Coast Railway H2 Class ‘Atlantic’ Locomotive, No.424, later in its life to be named “Beachy Head”, and shown here as it appeared in its earliest years before the First World War.

I spent a lot of time on this and had a great deal of enjoyment doing it.
I’ve deliberately worked in the style of ‘F Moore’ here, the name used by the Locomotive Publishing Company as the illustrator of all its colour plates. In fact there was no such person involved in the illustrations, but it was a name used by several different painters, all working in a comparable style.
