For Christmas this year my mom asked me to paint something for her.  Knowing how much of a fan she is of the Virgin Mary, I came up with this piece here.  Like most of the painting I do now, I looked up some reference images and landed on this one here.

After an initial sketch, I wanted to paint everything in with the new style I've been playing with.  If you've seen some of my Thangka inspired work on here, you can see what I'm talking about.
