My typography skills were tested when I was challenged to create patterns using only letter forms. Having never done anything like this before, I was completely up to the task. This project stretched my creativity and challenged my brain to think in ways that it never had before. 

As I started to study letterforms, I became really interested in the American Typewriter font. I was fascinated with the way that the serifs of each letter fit together and by the interesting shapes that were made by the negative space. Once I discovered this, I decided to take it and run. It was so much fun to experiment with different letters and see what the most interesting shapes that I could come up with were.
