For my project I wanted to explore the simple human form. I am a painter and whenever we have to do figure drawings I am terrible at it. So I wanted to try out the figure form in sculpture form to get out of my comfort zone. Mine has four layers. The wire, styrofoam, duct tape, and finally the clay. My sculpture stands at 12 inches.

I  did not run into too many problems, I think the hardest part was making sure as I was building it that it could still stand with all the different layers being added to it. But overall it stands up very nicely. I think one thing I would do differently is add some more details overall to the form, maybe try out some texture. I wanted to keep it simple because the form reminds me of quick 1 min sketches when you are drawing out proportions of the human figure.

The learning process for this project was fun actually. I had to figure out how many layers I wanted to add, and when I added on the layers I still had to make sure the weight of the project was still good enough to support the project.
