Caterpillar and Rattlesnake Draught Excluders

Say hello to these big colourful knitted draught excluders; these make perfect, friendly home accessories. This patterns have been designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz using acrylic DK yarns, and are knitted flat on single pointed needles. The snake's tongue is made from knitted i-cord which is worked on two double pointed needles (DPNs).

One skein in each of these colours to make both toys (available in 100g skeins): Green Tea (70064), Paprika (70055), Gingerbread (70022), Blue Haze (70036), Storm Cloud (70065), Merlot (70048), Shiraz (70007) and Butterscotch (70061).
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.75mm straight single pointed knitting needles
Two 3.75mm (US 5) DPNs
NOTIONS
Toy filling
A darning or tapestry needle for seaming
Two 10mm domed black buttons for eyes per toy
SIZES
One Size: Caterpillar is 75cm long, and Rattlesnake is 96cm long (not including the tongue).
TECHNIQUES
Work flat on single pointed needles (not in the round).
The tongue is i-cord worked on two DPNs
Other techniques include casting on and off, knits and purls, increases and decreases, knit stripes, and seaming to finish.
