India
thru my lens as a missionary
I went on a mission trip in 2008 that took me to 11 countries in 11 months. My team and I lived with the locals, oftentimes in our tents or in their homes, and we served beside them and lived life. It was a great way to meet felt needs and build some lasting relationships along the way while making a meaningful impact.

I was forever changed by this experience and it stirred passions inside of me that I didn't realize I even had, like creatively telling the stories of people all over the world.

Overlooking Dwarka Sector 8 just outside of Delhi, India. The airport is in the background. This is where we lived for six weeks.

We were there during their independence day. It was awesome! They fly kites w/ prayers written on them EVERYWHERE, then they let go and the 'winds' carry their prayers away.

The group of guys on the roof in the background flew this kite in the picture towards us (on our rooftop). They were writing love notes back and forth to the missionary girls with us. Kind of hilarious...
India.

I cannot display the location of this orphanage that we worked at. The kids here were incredible. They would wake up at 5:00am before school (on their own) just to pray and worship. They've endured lots of persecution over the years. I one point the government even came in (after finding out that Christians came and that they were Christians) and operated on them, taking out their organs and the whole shot.

The orphanage they lived in was in really rough shape. So we did a lot of much needed maintenance, painting, and lots of hanging out with the kids. We painted the main room of theirs with all kinds of qualities on the wall, mainly that they were princes and princesses of God. Very prophetic in many ways.

Such amazing kids with amazing testimonies. I won't forget India...
