Crazy Shit from College. Final project of J. Chen's drawing class 2015. These are trace monotypes derived from photographs taken during the Mary B James crossdressing holiday celebrated at Grinnell College. Splotches of color come from Mike's Hard Lemonade poured on bits of the print. The grainy ground is a result of the trace monotype process--the plate rubbed off a gradient around the lines, producing the effect. Saturation of the photos after the documentation process produces the yellow tones.
