For painting with oil paints, David Berkowitz Chicago suggests choosing different pads - canvas, wood, paper... But whatever the surface you choose, it's important to apply a primer, called gesso, to the surface you are painting. This will make the paint better bond with the substrate and protect the surface from harmful oils.
To make it easier to transfer your idea to the canvas, use a paint that consists of color and turpentine. Unlike oil, this paint will dry quickly, so you will be able to add paint and paint layers without waiting for a few days to dry.
When painting with oil paints, the rule is to apply diluted paint and less oil to the first layers, while the dyes of paint and more oils are used in the following layers. Unlike acrylic paints, oils require much more time to dry. In this way, the first layers will dry more quickly and the color will not crack.
