Summary:

Munsif has settled in Chicago as a refugee from war-torn Iraq, leaving behind his youth, his dreams, and his family. Even in the Windy City, however, he finds no refuge from the recurring nightmares of death and destruction which he beheld as a soldier in the Iraqi army on the Highway of Death. As he wrestles daily with his demons behind the wheel of a delivery truck crisscrossing the city, he meets a host of American and Arab characters – some mysterious, others seductive, all memorable. Each in their own way, they jolt Munsif into a new reality.
