The (dis)Embodiment of Music

The (dis)Embodiment of Music

This project is a ceramic bust. It consists of several musical notes in distinct sizes and angles engraved on it in various places, guitar strings looped in multiple places, and a vinyl record behind the head.
The use of each element contributes to a singular idea: music comes from within. Music provides a distinct insight into who we are as well as relates to us on a deeper level.
Music, for as long as I can remember, has always been something of great value to me. It was something I could fall back on in any circumstance. As an art form, music has been a constant presence in society for centuries. Music, like most all other art forms, is a way for artists to express the way they feel by addressing current events, talking about their lives, or by creating something inspired by pure emotion. In turn, it provides listeners with an entertaining way to connect with such emotions. In any condition, it is likely that we look within ourselves to question what we listen to and to find the ability to connect to it. No matter which way we choose to perceive this idea, there is the same conclusion: music comes from within.
