Numbers project:
Brief: Experimentation. Think of a number. Any number. Now investigate everything about it and design a piece of work to be printed on A2 that celebrates or explores that number. The work itself can be generated via any media and using any tools.
Answer:
A number? Infinity.
Infinity is a number that challenges the limit of the countable, that's what makes it so attractive to me.
I did some research of what infinity can mean in different fields like in perspective/geometry or even in physics, which is the end of a plane or the beginning of another one.
Also, I was inspired by the "Alterazioni Ottico Mentali" of Franco Grignani, a great book about his work and the use of lines as an element in a composition.
Then I started working with lines and the "Blend" tool in Illustrator until I produce a combination of posters that could match together. This way, my concept: " the end of a plane and beginning of another one" could be reflected. Moreover I was challenging the format as A4 x4 becomes an A2.
I hope this project hasn't given you a headache already
It was a pleasure to work on an experimental project for a while.
I still look at it as I have it hung at home as a mobile.
