PROJECT Alexander Calder Products
DESCRIPTION For the re-opening of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, many Calder pieces were acquired that have a significant presence in the museum. Looking through the collection, my team and I decided which pieces from a breadth of work could sell well on specific products. After deciding on select images and attaining the proper rights, I layout the artwork, credit lines and typography on a product. Color corrections are made and guidelines are followed according to the Calder Foundation.
PROJECT Letterpress Holiday card sent to Director's Circle donors featuring Alexander Calder's mobile sculpture Untitled, 1963, as a public installation in the atrium of the museum entrance. A blank card is sold in stores.
ROLE Developed the concept of creating a letterpress card with SFMOMA Collection art for holiday and a year-round art card featuring the brand's signature red color. Sourced a vendor, negotiated pricing, produced design of card from colors to layout and vectorizing the image, requested permission from the Calder Foundation, and went on press to approve ink color and registration.
