In central New Hampshire's Lake Region there is a tradition of racing boats on Lake Winnipesaukee. The area is known for being the oldest resort area in America and is still active in the building of classic boats. Presidents and power brokers come to the lake to relax and recharge and at times ride their beautiful boats. 

 

Many of the older race boats are still around and reflect the fine craftsmanship of classic wooden boat building. The detail and fine mechanics of the each boat reflects the personality of each. I have been fortunate to have been able to photography many of the these classic boats. Racing on the lake is still an annual event and draws many to the area.

 

In the future I will be presenting a more detailed photo series of the actual building of these classic wooden boats.
