The project was based on our study of different types of Art Movements that took place in ancient time. Three famous art movements were: Bauhaus, Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
The assignment was to design a product inspired by any one of these movements.
Product: Restaurant table organizer.
Size: 10.5 inches x 6.5 inches
Inspiration: The art movement that I chose was Art Deco.
Art Deco represented luxury and glamour. Intense colours were used at that time. Less curvy forms were observed. Rectilinear rather than curvilinear forms were seen. It was influenced by Cubism and Futurism. Bold colours such as: blue, brown, golden, silver, orange, etc. were widely used. Products had symmetry and were angular.
