The name of the EP for a (momentarily defunct) musical project created between me and one of my close friends.
The head was traced from a photograph of Justin Timberlake wearing cool sunglasses, and the theme of the project is retroactively intended to reflect the feeling of boldness brought about by the newness of a brand new college experience circa 2011.
Thematical influences for the music would include French record label and all of its related musical acts Ed Banger Records, classic 80s punk rock, a touch of internet culture as well as influences from the music of classic 1980s video games, all of which have experienced a resurgence in relevance in the last 10 years.
The symbol <#, according to our interpretation of the project, has no auditory name, as the auditory representation is the sound contained within the music itself. It is intended to reflect that which is to be found in our imagination, which has itself no name, as once a concept is given a name it transitions from our infinite, vast, and endless imagination into the realm of tangible concepts. The symbol emerged as a typo for the traditional texting heart symbol (<3) inside a facebook chat between my friend and I, and continues to represent the joy that is to be found in the mistakes in life as they emerge from the subconscious into the conscious.
