None of my lovely friends were photographed in the nude.

For this homage, I definitely wanted to address the heavy sense of flesh and presence that give weight to her work and decided to exaggerate that almost to an abstract by utilizing tight cropping. Saville's paintings have such a great use of color but I wanted to give a palpable sense of flesh by using the richness of black and white photographs.

Despite what the second photograph might look like, it is but only two hands squeezing a stomach. Some of Saville's paintings do have a sexual energy, so I am alright that the second photograph is abstract enough to allow for some misinterpretation.
