Braided Bones is an observation of the changing notion of gender identity and the roles that beauty and stereotype have played in defining it. This series explores this idea of gender v's identity through Roller Derby. While still perceived as a 'fringe' sport, it is hard to deny that the resurgence in popularity of roller derby is a reflection of a widening understanding of less traditional gender roles and identities.
