Gun Violence in Schools - Project #2

Gun Violence in Schools
Introduction:
Our project was on the causes and solutions to Gun Violence in Schools. We could've chosen many different solutions, but we chose mental health because it was the least radical and pretty much globally supported. We based our project heavily off a Russian Constructivist poster, however, we introduced the despondent kid, along with the school.

Final:
In our final draft for this project we wanted to clearly display a solution to gun violence in schools. We displayed that through the side bar, and the text on the building. We showed what poor mental health can look like through the kid in the background and the dark grey/black color palette. From our first to final composition we darkened the school buildings, added the black to gray contrasting gradient in the background, and posterized some of the face and building. Since people were having trouble discerning the school building, we added the text "school" and tried to make it look natural. In the overall scale of the poster, we lowered the width of the side bar to put the main focus on the kid and the text on the main building.
