Commodification of Women

Commodification of Women

We chose the commodification of women because of it's massive cultural effects on our secular society. This is an extreme problem in our society that almost every man faces. The Summit on Human Dignity we had last year, inspired us to create a poster regarding this issue.

Here are some of the roughs and sketches we made for our project:
Here is the inspiration we received for creating the poster as well as a few links to posts that led to our final draft:

We got the image of the women from pexels.com and no attribution was required

Next are some of the drafts we had before the final draft:

Here is our final draft:

We chose a picture of a women and then put a word cloud on her. We thought this was the best way to preach a message about the commodification of women because it has descriptions of what a women is despite a different message our culture tells us. We also put a word cloud on her clothes in black to describe what the culture thinks of women and the negative thoughts. This difference of colors creates a contrast between the positive and genuine descriptions of women compared to the negative and falsified descriptions. Finally, we added the text "It's not that you are seeing to much, but that you're seeing to little" to encompass the message we are trying to spread.
