This project aims to redefine and re-interpret the figure of Christ on the cross, underlining his presence-in-absence through the white silhouette and the outline of the body.

This is also an hommage to the Holy Shroud saved in Torino, Italy - that is said to be the linen that wrapped the body of Jesus after crucifixion - whose mistery still keeps intact after centuries.

The shape of Jesus is based on Italian crucifixes dating from late Middle age and early Renaissance, painted by masters like Fra Angelico, Simone Martini and Giotto.

The mistery of life and death permeating each other involves everybody, both observants and atheists, and Jesus in this sense, coming through his martyrdom, is the symbol of such passage in the Western world.
