This is a project I worked on based on a brief from the website Briefbox. The focus of the project was to create an illustration of an iconic landmark using only 4 colours and the brief encouraged creators to try illustration styles outside of their comfort zones. I started by deciding on the colours I wanted to use based on various photos of Mount Fuji in different settings and I went from there. I began using a realistic approach to see how the colours worked together but opted for something more abstract. I think Mount Fuji is recognisable from the abstract logo due to its unique symmetric shape that meets the two peaks of the crater that are slightly different in altitude. I think it could be used as a simplified logo and has quite a modern feel to it with the bold lines.
